About Project

Souk Artisan is a mobile marketplace that connects buyers with talented Moroccan artisans, offering handmade and unique products. The platform bridges tradition and modernity, creating opportunities for artisans to thrive in a digital-first world.

The Moroccan artisan industry is rich in heritage but struggles with visibility in a digital era — artisans often lack the tools to reach a global audience, while buyers face difficulties finding authentic handmade products in a convenient way. Souk Artisan was designed to close that gap, creating a seamless connection between the two sides while letting the craft itself remain the focus, not the interface around it.

  • Mobile app design (marketplace)
  • User journey & dashboard design
  • Culturally-driven UX

Two journeys,
one meeting point.

Buyers and artisans never wanted the same app. Each side was designed on its own terms, and the two converge only where they must: the order.

Buyer
looking for something real
01
Discovers
Browses by interest, category and region, not by a maker's name they don't know yet.
02
Judges the piece
Photographs, materials and the maker behind it. Authenticity has to be shown, not claimed.
03
Buys
Checkout short enough that one handmade object is worth the trouble.
04
Tracks the order
Sees where it is without messaging anyone to ask.
05
Follows the maker
Returns for the artisan, not the catalogue.
Artisan
new to selling online
01
Opens a shop
Craft, city and a few photographs. No vocabulary to learn first.
02
Lists a product
Photograph, price, quantity. Upload designed for one hand and a phone.
03
Receives an order
One clear instruction: what sold, to where, by when.
04
Ships it
Marks it sent; the buyer's tracking updates itself.
05
Reads the dashboard
Which pieces are watched, which sell, what to make next.
Where they meet
The order
Payment confirmed before the artisan starts packing.
Both sides read the same status, in their own language.
Delivery closes the loop and feeds the artisan's numbers.

One app,
two sets of screens.

Four tabs each. The buyer side is built for browsing, the artisan side for doing one task at a time — the same shell, two different centres of gravity.

Crafted to let heritage travel further,
giving Moroccan artisans a digital place
to be seen and to thrive.

01. Discovery & Mapping

Research centered on two very different needs living inside one platform — artisans needing simple tools to sell and grow, and buyers needing an easy, trustworthy way to discover authentic handmade goods.

02. Concept Design

Two dedicated journeys were shaped in parallel: for buyers, discovery by interest, category, and location, with smooth purchasing and order tracking; for sellers, effortless product uploads paired with sales dashboards to track performance and understand buyer interest.

03. Implementation

Interfaces were refined to feel intuitive for artisans with varying levels of digital experience, while giving buyers a browsing and buying experience that feels as personal and authentic as the products themselves letting Moroccan craftsmanship reach a global, digital-first audience.
